Clover is a cheerful family cottage with a great view but it can just as easily be a solo writer’s retreat. There’s a deck facing north looking over the farm and towards the mountains, and the the horse paddock is right in front of you so you.
Honeywood is a fully operational farm so there’s plenty going on, whether it’s tractors moving wood or trucks ferrying beehives. There are paths, streams and forest walks to enjoy and a mountain water swimming pool up at the main house for those hot days.
You can purchase bags of firewood and mountain biking permits from the office on arrival or add it to your booking reservation.
The water in all our cottages comes straight off the mountain. It is a golden, clear amber colour and is completely safe and drinkable. The colour comes from the tannins that seep from roots as the water is naturally filtered underground before trickling into the rock pools high up on the mountainside. It has a high Ph level and a bit of a taste so we don’t think it makes a great Japanese sencha or even a heavenly cup of strong English tea so we suggest you bring bottled water if you are concerned, pregnant or have a sensitive and highly attuned sense of taste. But what we can promise is it is phenomenal to bath, shower or swim in.
All cottages are fully self-contained, but not serviced.
